So here we have something special for our third release! Debuting on Makin’ Moves Records, we have the mighty Ron Pullman (Atlanta) presenting Shannon Chambers (Chicago) featuring Lester Jenkins (Chicago)!! Soulful vocals at it’s best laid down very smoothly here by Lester (Jay), coming from a Gospel background which he does not fail in letting his lyrics feel meaningful and heartfelt!

The original mix is produced by Shannon Chambers who is no stranger to the house scene and being from Chicago and influenced by only the best DJ’s around, you can hear the deep, lush bassline grooves which he delivers on this production. Certainly creating a vibe!
And to top it off, Ron Pullman adds his remix which is just as stimulating and you’ll be also sure to catch a vibe on the dancefloor with his take on this timeless classic! Ron , with a wealth of experience under his belt and called by many ‘the Godfather of house music in Alanta’ and has been producing and performing in the house scene for over 30 years. Need we say more?

After serious consideration, and in light of recent announcements from the government we regretfully announce the postponement of our event this Friday at the Curtain in Shoreditch.
Our team, has worked incredibly hard to present another fantastic event, and this decision has not been taken lightly. The health and safety of you our followers, and the hotel staff is our top priority in light of the ever-changing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

If you would like a refund please head to the order in your order history on RA and click “Refund Tickets”. Your refund will be processed back into the account used to purchase your tickets. Refunds can take up to 5 working days to land in your account.

You have 14 days to request refunds, after which it will no longer be available.

Christie Love

Singer-songwriter Christie Morris aka Christie Love taps into the 80s soulful house music sound for her debut single “One Day”. The Newark, New Jersey born vocalist, doesn’t disappoint on this ode to the traditional deep house sound. The singer’s vocals on this track are sultry and captivating at every turn. The soundscape has a mix of a the gospel, R&B, and disco vibe. Although, exposed to house music during her early childhood, it wasn’t until later in her adulthood, that she rediscovered her love of the house music genre. “There’s just something about “soulful house” or “deep house” music that touches my soul”.

Raised in the Baptist church Christie Love sang in various choirs, which is where her smooth soulful sound was nurtured. Christie Love showed serious interest in the music industry during early childhood. In fact, it has always been her dream to become “a famous, successful and wealthy recording artist/entertainer”. She grew up in a house full of constant gospel, R&B and soul music which explains her love of music. There is no denying that her music is fresh and appealing. Other than music, Christie Love is passionate about family, spirituality, dancing, history, love, and food.

Christie Love is currently in the studio working on more unknown soulful house singles. Her riveting and unique sound is proof that this is an artist to watch out for.

Reggie Steele, a Newark, NJ native, is one of New Jersey’s premier house music artists & producers. His rhythmic grooves, memorable lyrics, and melodic chords, create a fresh sound that is shaking dance floors around the world. Reggie began his journey in house music working with Big Moses on the “Shelter Anthem” with Ambrosia and “Deep Inside”. He later collaborated with fellow NJ DJ/producer DJ Beloved and Jihad Mohammed, churning out top 20 soulful house records for Tasha Larae, Sheree Hicks, Miranda Nicole, and a host of other house music artists. To cement his unique sound and identity within the house music genre, Reggie stepped away from the collaborations for a brief moment and produced a number of singles and remixes which catch the attention of dance floors, artists and record labels across the world. Makin’ Moves Records are back and starting off 2020 with one of the most honourable house legend vocalists that is Robert Owens presented by The Groovin Beats Ensemble.

Welcoming back Will ‘ Reelsoul’ Rodriguez on remix duties and gives us that deep bass grooves and synths that organically compliments Mr. Owens voice. We hope you enjoy!

With more than twenty years as a gifted singer, songwriter, producer and DJ under his belt, Robert Owens is very much the most celebrated voice in house music. “Tears”, “I’ll Be Your Friend” and “Ordinary People” are just some of the tunes that have borne Robert Owens black velvet voice and that have gone on to become truly classic dance records. Like many other great vocalists, Robert Owens began his career singing in church gospel choirs.

In 1985 Robert met pioneering Chicago producer Larry Heard, who invited him into his studio. Together they formed Fingers Inc with Ron Wilson and released a series of excellent singles such as ‘Mysteries Of Love’or the instantly recognisable house classic ‘Can You Feel It’.

Makin’ Moves @ LP in The Curtain Saturday 1st February

Following 4 amazing free parties in 2019 at the wonderful LP set inside the Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch, we return with a bang for our first party of 2020! For this special event we welcome Crackazat from Sweden to London for his first show in the capital.

Originally from Bristol England, Ben Jacobs aka Crackazat is a multi-Instrumentalist and electronic producer. Since his emergence on the international scene, he has quickly become recognised for his unique fusion of Jazz and House music.

The last couple of years Crackazat has had an explosion of global popularity, with Remixes for the likes of Joey Negro, Moulinex, and Tom Misch.

When it comes to Live Sets, crackazat sets the bar high, having started out with supporting sets for Bonobo and Floating points. His glorious keyboard solos, funky bass guitar, and general infectious grooviness are winning him crowds across the planet.

Also, djing on the night catch residents Matt L-S and Jamesey spinning their unique deep house vibes!
