MAKIN076 – Hallex M & DJ Fudge ft. Omar ‘Ding Ding’ (DJ Beloved Remix)

Glad to have back once again with a fresh remix, our good friend and producer DJ Beloved from BPM Productions.

Ding Ding was first released in 2014 and was a big club hit for us. DJ Fudge has long been a force in the house music scene since his Trouble Men days on the well-respected Kif Recording, and alongside his good friend Hallex M who has carved a notch in the new breed of rare talent over the past years. Both guys had longed to work with UK soul legend Omar Lyefook. And in 2013, their dream came true when Omar visited Hong Kong where Hallex and DJ Fudge both currently reside and there they worked on two tracks which still have music heads talking.

Both DJ Fudge and Hallex are prolific producers in their own right at the moment and you should certainly check out Hallex M’s new Soul Odyssey album which recently dropped on Groove Odyssey Records.

MAKIN077 – DJ Kemit Presents The Lounge Lizards Starring Jill Rock Jones

We are now proud to welcome along DJ Kemit’s debut EP to our Makin’ Moves Label. Presenting The Lounge Lizards ft. Jill Rock Jones.

DJ KEMIT is also internationally known for his production work as one-half of KemeticJust. Within a year of joining forces, he and Justin Chapman, aka Just One, had their first release, picked up by King Street, one of the worlds biggest house music labels in 2014 courtesy of house music legend Lil Louis.

KemeticJust continued with two dozen releases on labels such as Nite Grooves, Yoruba Records, Giant Step, Diaspora Recordings, Wave Music, Bombay Records and Play Records that are still praised within the underground house music scene. KemeticJust’s trademark deeper-than-deep sound is made of lush, moody instrumentation that blends with airy acoustic guitar licks, beautiful melodies and ethereal, sweet vocals. Think Larry Heard sensitivity with more dancefloor kick.

How did DJ KEMIT land such massive talent for his debut? His penchant for impeccably crafted songs and honouring his collaborators genius, a constant refrain from any artist he’s worked with.

While EVERLASTING recently has taken center stage, DJ KEMIT has long been a sought-after producer for remixes such as Still by ERRO, On the Beach by Leon Ware, and the 4Evermore remix for David’s EP Location, Location, Location.

Every time, KEMIT finds a way to draw even more emotion from already heart-touching songs, or bump just enough bounce into surprising dancefloor steppers. We hope you all enjoy this musical craftsman as much as we do here at Makin’ Moves Records.

All songs recorded and mixed by DJ Kemit for Kemit Muzik, LLC at Kemit Audio Labs, Atlanta Ga

All songs mastered by Daz I Kue for Bugz In The Attic & Daz I Kue Productions.

MAKIN071 – Dawn Souluvn Williams & Dj Wali B ‘I Stopped’

We welcome two new faces to the label for our latest release, singer Dawn Souluvn Williams and DJ Wali B from New Jersey.

Dawn Souluvn Williams crossed over into the Soulful House music world in 2009 and began to blossom almost over night. Discovered on Facebook by Moises Modestro, she recorded and co-wrote “Release” aka “Funky Beep” with Moises and Duane Hardin. From there she wrote and recorded “Live, Love, Laugh” in 2009 produced by Bruce Jeffers of Phunk Farmers Music. “Live, Love, Laugh” opened doors for Dawn around the world and she wrote and recorded her first Charted and #1 Hit title “New Me” produced by Jonny Montana.

This is Wali Bs first move into producing and with Tiger Wilson on synths it works the floor so well. Were pretty sure this is not going to be the last production that we will be hearing from Wali!

This very infectious piece of soulful house has been a big hit on the Makin Moves show for the last few months and in the cd wallets of the likes of Louie Vega, Jihad Muhammad, Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell.

MAKIN068 – Loftsoul X Miruga featuring Fae Simon ‘I Love You All’

We welcome our good friend DJ Uchikawa aka Loftsoul from Japan for his release on the label. We’ve had Uchikawa come and play at our parties in London for many years so it was high time he did a release for us and what a stunning track he’s turned out with the UKs Fae Simon on vocals. The track was first performed earlier this year in London by Fae when Uchi was last over here in March and Matt and Jamesey from the label thought it was so good they decided to snap it up!

Uchi runs his own clubs in his native Japan and also runs the Loftsoul Recordings label working alongside numerous high-gradeartists and singers.

On vocals is Fae Simon from the UK, a soulful Jazz singer, a gifted songwriter and a vocal performance instructor with over 20 years of on-stage experience.

Formally trained in Opera and Jazz, Faes performance style fuses these traditional genres with Hip-hop, Rare Groove, Soul and Dub a unique sound that electrifies audiences when she performs with her live band. She’s released two albums and is currently working on her third…

MAKIN063 – Frank McComb ‘Listen To Your Heart’ (AMFlow Remix)

Frank McComb is a divine soul man who speaks with the native tongue of soul, jazz, blues and pop. His virtuoso vocal and piano work has made him not only an indispensable and highly sought after session musician, but a favorite on the soul, jazz and R&B scenes.

Frank has worked with many of the entertainment industry%u2019s giants including but not limited to: Prince, Branford Marsalis, George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Gerald Levert, The Rude Boys, Phil Perry, Tommy Davidson, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Chaka Khan, Songwriting duo Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (Will Smith), Frankie Beverly and Maze, Teena Marie, Lalah Hathaway, Terri Lynn Carrington, Phyllis Hyman, Valerie Simpson, American Idol’s Rickey Minor, Philip Bailey, Teddy Pendergrass and so many more.

‘Listen To Your Heart’ came out in 2000 on an album called Love Stories. New Jersey house producers Adam Rios and Mark Lewis aka AMFlow loved the original song and felt the hook would work nicely with a house music beat and made a special mix for themselves that they would play out in dj sets.

We heard the new mix and sent it to Frank asking if we could release it and he loved it so much he re-sung the vocals and the rest they say is history!

AMFlow are Adam Rios and Mark Lewis hailing from New Jersey, USA. Adam has been in the industry for many years mostly producing house music with legend Timmy Regisford and the Shelter crew for many years and has recently stepped up his solo projects with Vega Records. This exciting side project with Mark Lewis is called AMFlow. Expect to hear more form these guys later this year!
