With ties to gospel music, the Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist,
Josh’s phenomenal “Shapes, Color and Magic” EP, 2021, explores some of the most innovative jazz and dance music rhythms ever released on the label. In this latest project, Milan pushes the boundaries and challenges our beliefs around danceable jazz music. As with his “6.9.69” LP, this EP is very jazz influenced, improvisational and timeless.

Something fresh out of the Makin’ Moves stable and as always bringing something different to the table. Straight out of Liverpool, we have a multi instrumentalist & producer who goes by the name Glory To (aka John Dean) makin’ his debut release on the label. Along with with singer/songwriter ,bassist & vocalist Mariella Doriano. This uplifting and percussive track has all the elements to move you combined with Mariella’s silky vocals that sit smoothly over to bring a very vibrant song!
And to also welcome London’s very own Aroop Roy on the remix duties. Aroop’s eclectic productions have become a mainstay for DJs across diverse scenes and generations ranging from underground tastemakers Gilles Peterson, Hunee and Mr Scruff.

Makin’ Moves join forces with the Indahouse crew a London dance collective for an all day and night dance extravaganza at Earth Kitchen in Dalston, a venue we are very familiar with its high ceilings, wooden floor and state of the art sound system. Indahouse comprise of three members, Clara Bajado, Frankie J and Troy, who have all been integral to the London dance scene since 2007 not only as dancers but teachers collaborating with the likes of Red Bull Dance as well as holding their own events.
The event gets underway at 5pm with Clara and her team kicking off with some house dance work shops, come and get involved and learn some moves before we hit the floor later for the main event the 2vs2 all styles dance contest which sees dancers teaming up to win a the big prize of £150!
Presenting the djs playing throughout the day, we have one of our most exciting line ups to date which sees Makin Moves residents Matt & Jamesey joined by two international star djs Kapela from Paris and Masaki Morii from Japan!
Kapela has been one of the rising stars in the soulful / afro scene for sometime. Building up a reputation as one of the top djs in Paris at the infamous Djoon club where he has a monthly Sunday residency. He’s someone we’ve wanted to bring to Makin’ Moves for sometime and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!
Masaki Morii also joins us all the way from Japan with his unique deep afro sound for his debut performance in London! This man’s productions have been on fire in the last two years via his M2Soul Music imprint and we look forward to welcoming him !
This event has something for everyone, with Makin Moves giveaways during the day so £10 is an absolute bargain!
