Two of London’s finest deep house labels Makin’ Moves & Soul Quest Records come together for a special one off event this summer at one of the finest venues in central London, Set List which is situated in the heart of historic Somerset House! This place is a real hidden gem where you can happily get down to quality soulful sounds served up by our djs on a slick dance floor or simply hang outside taking in the scenic views of the capital while sipping on a cocktail or sampling some of the great food on offer! Makin’ Moves has been going for 14 years and has been one of the main stays of quality soulful music in London while constantly pushing musical boundaries.

Matt and Jamesey also are two of the finest djs setting the tone for the London deep house scene while also curating regular events around the capital. Soul Quest is headed by head honcho Max Sinal one of the most creative minds for soulful music in the UK, this man is not only a producer but label owner and DJ! Constantly finding new artists for his label and keeping a very high standard of release we welcome him and his label cohort KingCrowney for this unique collaboration!

Both labels will not just be showcasing djs but also ive artists from their respective labels so this promises to be a unique event!

MAKINEP021 – Cee El Assaad & Sabrina Chyld “The Time Is Here” (Ron Trent Remixes)

Morocco’s native Cee ElAssaad comes back again to collaborate with the UK’s afro house songstress Miss Sabrina Chyld for their debut release on Makin’ Moves! Cee as always provides his eclectic and hypnotic groove with his signature drums layered behind Sabrina’s sultry and meaningful vocals which ring true here to remind us to not dwell on the past, and utilise our time in the present.

Chicago house pioneer Ron Trent does his thing and opens up on the remix bringing that super deep vibe as only he does, building tension with a solid bassline and spine tingling synths before a final drop letting Sabrina’s vocal excel to its fullest! The Dubstrumental has also included on this limited edition Aquamarine vinyl as a bonus.

Ralph Session returns to Makin’ Moves this summer with ‘Wrap Your Soul’ his second single release on the label!

Ralph is an ever evolving house music producer with releases on labels such as Freerange, Quantize and Local Talk records, through the years showing his versatility. Demonstrating his skills once again with this roller of a tune that brings more ‘bounce to the ounce’ using creative ‘Boom Bap’ style drum pattern, whilst cleverly intertwining a beautiful soulful vocal drawing from his B-Boy/House dancer background filled with funk, soul, hiphop/R&b and house influences.

The vocal sweetly flows along wrapping your soul into a dance floor bliss, making this a perfect summer anthem.

Makin’ Moves Summer Session @ Set List – Sun 21st June

Sunday 21st June sees Makin’ Moves kick off a series of summertime daytime parties at the awesome riverside venue Set List situated in the heart of the historic Somerset House!

This place is a real hidden gem where you can happily get down to quality soulful sounds served up by our djs on a slick dance floor or simply hang outside taking in the scenic views of the capital while sipping on a cocktail or sampling some of the great food on offer!

For this first event Makin’ Moves head honcho Matt L-S will be joined by his House FM cohort DJ Murrell who’s been one of the rising stars of the soulful house scene in the last 18 months. We also welcome back Martin Lodge who’s played for us many times in the past 14 years and always brings the party!

MissBeehavior also returns for her second set for us following her amazing debut performance at the Cross last year.
