Makin’ Moves celebrates their 14th anniversary on Saturday 16th May with a special day party event at South London’s finest club Phonox. Phonox is definitely our favourite London club with the best sound system and lights, it just has the full package when putting on an event of this size!

The brand funny enough started its first events in Brixton down the road at the POW in 2012 which only seems like yesterday! The guys have now overseen 100 international events and a substantial catalog of 250+ releases that have established their sound as synonymous with high-quality underground music. Featuring a diverse array of DJs, artists, and producers such as Glenn Underground, Ron Trent, and Jimpster, the brand is dedicated to delivering Deep and Soulful House to a discerning audience of clubbers.

Matt and Jamesey have played alongside some legends in the game through the years on their stage while also bringing through underground talent who have gone onto to even greater things as they continue to set the pace in London’s forever growing house music scene constantly dropping quality sets wherever they go and also Matt has one of the most listened to house music show’s every other Thursday night on House FM. For this keystone event we welcome Osunlade as our special guest!

As one of the pioneers of the deep house scene this man continues to evolve as one of the best dj / producers on the planet while still keeping his underground roots. On the production front his label Yoruba Records has been one of the stand out house labels for the last 25 years constantly breaking new artists not forgetting his remix on our label for artist Lavonz “Reason For Love” from a few years ago, which still stands the test of time.

Fresh from a great night last weekend at Timber Loft in Shoreditch, Matt and James host their first listening party event at BBE store in London Fields, where you get to hear future Makin’ Moves jams and this one is TOTALLY FREE!!

Joining the boys for this event will be Marvin Jupiter, one of London’s most inertive producer, musicians and djs to come through the London broken beat scene from North West London. Marvin is son of late West London producer / DJ, Phil Asher (aka Phlash) who Matt and Jamesey shared the DJ booth on many occasions in the 2000′s but sadly passed a few years ago so this is a real circle back moment for us.

Also, Marvin has remixed a track for our label titled “Lovin’ You” written and sung by UK soul legend Don-E nd we will be showcasing the record on the day.

This release will be available to purchase from all good stores from 10th April 2026.

Makin’ Moves continue their series of day parties, this time taking over the brand new Timber Loft space situated at the top of the Light Bar in Shoreditch! This space has some serious history in London’s dance music scene and now has been revamped for 2026! It really is the perfect space for us with its stunning wooden dance floor and sound system (which has been taken from room 2 in fabric!) to 360 degree views of the city!

Matt and Jamesey will be fresh from their set at Faith and Southport Weekender respectfully and will be joined once again by Detroit’s Ash Lauryn who played a blinder of a set for us last year in Brixton so much so we immediately invited her back! Ash is one of the main female deep house pace setters always on the road out and now also rightly getting props over here in Europe on a regular basis. Opening things up will be Kojay and P-Lucas who are currently making waves in London’s deep house scene with their unique Oonts parties at spaces such as Grow and we welcome them both to Makin’ moves! Kojay we’ve obviously had play for us before but this time we also welcome his partner in crime P-Lucas!

This one sees us joining forces with Davide Del Vecchio and the Rehab_LDN crew and we know what happens when these two brands collide, yes you guessed, a full on road block as witnessed earlier this year in March at Brixton Jamm! On the ground floor you will be blessed by the sounds of Davide himself one of the best underground house music djs in London, alongside Frank is Franck owner of Shapes Festival and a quality DJ in his own right! Rounding off the talent on this floor and Franck’s partner in Shapes Housemotion a very underrated dj from the beautiful island of Zakynthos would will be London for an exclusive set!

In the basement you’ll find the Makin’ Moves residents Matt L-S and Jamesey kicking things off as only they know how! Matt is currently riding high having one of the most listened radio shows this year on Mixcloud and Jamesey coming off the back of a quality set at Deep Into Soul at 93 Feet East. Following our fantastic last outing at The Cross in September, we’ve been invited back to host yet another session at this wonderful venue on Friday 10th October!

We hope this one will be even bigger and better with word spreading that the anniversary party was so hyper that you need to be at the next one for those that missed it! Once again we provide the best dj talent around town and on the ground floor you will find Rohan Rakhit and DJ Amazon! Two djs that recently lit up We Out Here Festival this summer and both continue to excel with their cross pollination genre selections of soul, jazz, broken, and house! Rohan is resident DJ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, and one of the main minds behind the South Asian Underground crew DAYTIMERS.
