House 4 Soul @ Omeara Saturday 24th March

House 4 Soul your monthly fix of all things soul and soulful house is back at the wonderful Omeara in London Bridge on Saturday 24th March.

Headling in the house room alongside our residents Matt L-S and Jamesey from Makin’ Moves we’re very excited to have a best of British DJs this month in the form of Neil Pierce and Sy Sz. Neil has been pioneering the soulful house movement in London for over 20 years. His Deep Into Soul events are notorious and have become the main stay of London’s recent soulful and deep house music scene. In the studio Neil was one half of the dynamic duo Fanatix in the early 2000’s releasing an album on BBE Music in 2008 ’This Thing Of Ours’ a house album that still gets a lot of plays today. In 2013 alongside hot beat maker and producer Ziggy Funk they formed Rhemi Music and been releasing quality music ever since working and collaborating with high brow artists including Han-lei, Carmichael Musiclover, Vanessa Freeman and Nicole Mitchell.

Sy Sz is one of the busiest djs on the UK circuit, and more recently on the festival circuit in Croatia and Ibiza with Defected Records. A man who has mad love for the music he plays & makes, and his passion shines through in any of the sets you will hear him play. By day he’s A&R manager for Soul Heaven Records (Defected) and you can also catch him on Thursday nights with his radio show on Mi-Soul Radio and we look forward to welcoming Sy to his House 4 Soul debut!

MAKIN078 – Alton Miller featuring Sky Covington ‘Choose To Believe’

Our next release sees a second single from Detriots Alton Miller and Sky Covington, a soulful gem called Choose To Believe. We loved Alton’s first release that we put out last year and we couldn’t resist this collaboration with Sky who we’ve been an admirer of as both have worked together before on Alton label.
Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit, Alton’s early roots in soul music led to an affinity for club culture that was the staple of the motor city and Chicago at the time. Developing his DJing skills under the influence of house music’s founding fathers like Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Larry Levan and Timmy Regisford, he eventually opened his own dance club The Music Institute of Detroit with like minded friends Chez Damier and George Baker in 1988.
This release is available on Traxsource from Monday 12th February.

4 to the Floor Sunday Sessions Sunday 18th February @ The Book Club

Second installment for 2018 we have Jamesey from Makin Moves! Many collaborations have happened in the past but it’s the first time (about time) Jamesey graces us for a Sunday Session.

Co-founder of record label Makin Moves with Matt L-S, they welcome their sixth year with over 60 releases. The guys have worked with established artists such as Peven Everett, Omar, Kenny Bobien, Franck Mccomb, Sheree Hicks, as well as working with new talent in the form of Wipe the Needle, David Anthony and DJ Beloved from the States.

In the past 5 years Makin’ Moves have hosted parties in the UK at Cargo, The Prince of Wales, Shoreditch Studios and Bedroom Bar as well as The Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2013, all proved to be a roaring success. Currently the guys host a monthly joint party with JM Soul from House 4 Soul taking place at fantastic new venue in London called Omeara.

The Makin’ Moves Radio Show is every Thursday on www.housefm.netfrom 6-8pm (GMT) with Matt, Jamesey and since the back end of last year the boys have been joined once a month by their good friend Jihad Muhammad with his Bang the Drum show.

House 4 Soul & Makin’ Moves Saturday 17th February @ Omeara London

House 4 Soul & Makin’ Moves continue their monthly party at the splendid Omeara London set in London Bridge. We come together for the love of soul and house music across two room for a Valentines Special on Saturday 17th February.

Headling in the house room we’re very excited to have all the way from the Atlanta, USA, Kai Alce! Kai is one of house music’s current men of the moment, headling at various festivals last summer and getting a lot of props for some fantastic productions. In his younger years he worked closely with the likes of Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, D. Wynn, Alton Miller and his cousin Chez Damier, he moved to Atlanta and established a strong bond between the house communities of the Motor City and the South. Adding to his resume as a DJ and promoter, he started releasing his own tracks in the early ’00s on labels like Track Mode, Moodymann’s Mahogani, Omar S’s FXHE, Deep Explorer and eventually on his own imprint, NDATL Muzik.

Also, in the house will be Makin’ Moves residents Matt L-S and Jamesey alongside London’s David Bailey who has been hitting the highest lately at Deep into Soul and over seas at Suncebeat in Croatia.
