Makin Moves x Happydaes carnival party 2022 @Notting Hill Arts Club – Monday 29th August 2022

After two years without the infamous Notting Hill Carnival due to the pandemic this year’s event promises to be the best in many years with millions of people set to take to the streets in West London on Monday 29thAugust! As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations here at Makin’ Moves we’ve decided to put on a special event on the bank holiday Monday at our favourite venue in West London, the Notting Hill Arts Club with our close friends over at Happydaes to celebrate this occasion and showcase some of the best dj talent in house music from the UK and across the pond. Happydaes, is a boutique dj agency and collective with a whole host of fantastic dj talent on their books and we’re so excited for our first collaboration!

We’ve put together a mouth watering bill which sees Matt and Jamesey joined by three top class djs from Happydaes – including David Harness who will be flying in from San Francisco for the gig. David’s done many remixes on the Makin moves label and we’ve been dying to get him on an event bill for many years, as hes a thoroughly awesome dj! Also, joining us will be deepintosoul owner Neil Pierce who’s right up their with the best producers and DJ’s in the UK when it comes to house music with Southport Weekender and Suncebeat residencies – and with his infamous Deep Into Soul parties.

Rounding off this tip top line up is Craig Smith, one of the most respected djs in the Uk house music scene with a career spanning over 30 years featuring a ten year stint as resident at the Honeycomb club in Edinburgh. As a producer he’s craved a niche sound under the 6th borough project and the Revenge. He’ll be joining us fresh from tearing up Suncebeat in Croatia and cant wait to hear what he has in store for us!

This song touches on the theme that we can’t always be ‘in control’ of our situations , however that we must learn to free our mind from the worst, embrace change and sometimes “Let It Go”

As you would expect nothing less, “Looking Glass” is another infectious melodic vibe with a driving bassline to keep you in the groove. The keys played on this project are uniquely arranged and will have you enticed and wanting more. And to add icing to the this project, Lee collaborates with none other than Andre Espeut, who sings effortlessly in altering his vocal tones to align within the track which will mesmerise audiences from start to finish.

Earlier this month we released the official video to the long awaited Bang The Drum remix of “Honey Love”, which you can now view on the website! The song was originally produced by Arnaud D and now step forward Jihad Muhammad with his quality remix, giving us his take on a beautifully sung vocal by MissFly.

The release has been going great guns in the Traxsource charts, and recently as few weeks ago we hit the #1 spot on the Soulful house Top 10 chart, so thanks to everyone thats gone out and support so far!
