Local record label and party makers: Makin’ Moves residents Matt L-S and Jamesey come together with the Our House residents for an exclusive complimentary event at the much talked about Marquis basement club nestled beneath the newly refurbished pub in Stoke Newington.
The Marquis is one of London’s best hidden gems, think Plastic People vibe and kitted out with Function 1 sound! DJ’s featuring on the night will be Matt and Jamesey from Makin’ Moves, fresh from their roadblock Halloween event at The Marquis at the end of October! They will be joined by Our House’s Randy Peterson and Leigh Howlett who have been causing a storm with their monthly event at the Castle in Aldgate..

Makin’ Moves x Shapes present a night of Cheap Thrills and Loose Morals @ The Marquis, Stoke Newington – Sat 29th October

Saturday 29th October sees us join together with Shapes and Global Warming for a quality night of music across two floors (both equipped with Funktion One systems) at the newly refurbished Marquis in Stoke Newington.

We’ll be hosting the ground floor on the night with Matt and Jamesey on deck duties. Our special guest on the night will be DJ KarlaInTheMix from Paris for her first gig in London. The rising star hailing from Helsinki via France, has been bringing her exclusive fusion of deep house and afro sounds and getting the attention from those in the know on the club/festival scene this past summer.

One of Makin’ Moves staplemates Mr Arnaud D is back with something very special. Once again showing us his versatility on production with this afro house scorcher. And welcoming the vocals performed by Morris Revy who was brought up in Warri city in delta state, Nigeria. From singing in his church choir in the nineties, he took up professional music while in his high institution. Now making a name for himself in the soulful dance scene. Makin’ Moves 10th Anniversary Part 2 @ 93 Feet East – Saturday 10th September 2022

Following the amazing part one of our 10th anniversary party at 93 Feet East with Atjazz and Jimpster back in May where they both guys tore the house down, and left people asking “when’s the next party guys?!” we head back to our favourite London venue for part two on Saturday 10th September!

For this special event, Matt and Jamesey will be joined by Crackazat and Fényan in the main room. Crackazat absolutely smashed it the last time we hosted him back in 2020 and we can’t wait to welcome him once again as he brings that unique energy with his dj sets and live keys! He’s had a very busy year dropping his superb “Evergreen” album on Freerange Records plus some hot new exclusive remixes for us on the MM label so you’ll have to be in the house to catch a glimpse of those for the first time! Our second main room guest is Fényan who will be making his London debut and aren’t we excited to be bringing such a talent to Makin Moves! This man is different class growing up learning his trade firstly as a house dancer winning global acclaim but more recently he’s turned his hand to djing and producing working with the likes of Toy Tonics. His sets will have you hypnotised as he creativity works live elements over his unique beats!

Getting the show moving early on in the courtyard will be Frankie J (indahouse) and Davide Delvecchio who has recently been making a lot of noise with his Rehab events as a dj in his right. Frankie is one talented dude!! Where do we start.. This man is probably the best house dancer in the UK, taking his talents around the world showcasing and teaching, but as a DJ this guy is certainly one for the future as he showed us all at Colours in Hoxton last summer when he took the roof off! We look forward to welcoming both guys to Makin’ Moves for this very special event!
